Kick

Pick your corner. Beat the keeper. A free one-tap game.

Play nowTap to aim · Tap to shoot

Kick is a one-button penalty shoot-out. A marker sweeps across the goal: tap to lock where the shot goes. Then a second marker climbs from the grass up past the crossbar: tap again to set the height and strike. The keeper is watching. While you pick the height he edges toward your side, and the moment you kick he dives. Put it in the corner and he can't reach it. Put it too close to the post or the bar and the woodwork beats you instead. You have three misses. Later penalties bring a faster keeper, a defensive wall that blocks low shots, and bonus targets hanging in the corners.

How to play Kick

  1. Tap anywhere to lock the aim marker as it sweeps across the goal.
  2. Tap again to lock the height marker as it climbs, and the ball flies to that spot.
  3. Score past the keeper for a goal. A save, a miss or hitting the woodwork costs one of your three lives.
  4. Take each tap before the clock runs out, or that counts as a miss too.

Tips to get a high score

How the keeper gets sharper

Kick ramps up with your goal count until about 28 goals. By then both markers sweep nearly twice as fast as on your first penalty. After 28 they keep getting a little quicker with every goal, so no run lasts forever.

The keeper improves on every front. Early on he waits about a fifth of a second after the kick before he dives. By the end of the ramp it's half that, and he dives about 50% faster. The ball gets to the goal a bit sooner too, but not enough to make up for it.

His creep grows as well. While you pick the height he edges toward your aim, only a short way early on and about three times as far later. That head start is often what turns a goal into a save.

Picking a spot that beats him

The keeper dives straight at the spot where the ball will cross the line, so distance from him is what counts. On early penalties a low shot tucked well inside either post is out of his reach. Later, with his creep and faster dive, the low corner on your side gets covered, and the top corners become the safe target.

Leave room for the woodwork. If the ball's edge clips a post or the bar, it's out. Aiming about a ball's width inside the post is as tight as you want to go.

Be quick with the second tap. The keeper only creeps while the height marker is moving, so a fast height lock keeps him nearer the middle. You get about 5.5 seconds for each tap before the clock costs you a life, but there's no reason to use them.

The wall, the targets and what scores

Every goal is one point. The CLOSE! pop for a ball that slips past his gloves or just inside a post is only a flash and a sound. It doesn't add anything to your score.

From your 4th goal, a target sometimes hangs in a corner, on a bit under half of penalties. Score through it and you get a coin for hats, and every fifth goal in a row drops one too. Coins never touch your score, so don't chase a target that sits right against the woodwork.

The defensive wall arrives at 9 goals. It covers a random stretch of the goal, up to about half its width later on, and jumps to block anything low behind it. From 15 goals it often slides from side to side. Shots over the top or wide of the wall are safe from it, so only the keeper is left to beat.

FAQ

Why did the keeper save a shot in the corner?

He reads your aim. Every moment you spend picking the height, he moves a little closer to that side, and later in a run he dives faster. Lock the height sooner, or aim tighter to the post.

How does the run end?

You have three lives. Every save, miss, post, crossbar, blocked shot or clock violation costs one. Your score is the number of goals you scored.

Is it free?

Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.

How do challenges work?

After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
