Vault
Run, plant, push. The bar keeps rising. A free one-tap game.
Play nowHold to run · Let go to plantVault is a one-button pole vault game. Hold to sprint down the runway: the longer you run, the faster you go. Let go to plant your pole in the box, and the closer you plant to the white check mark, the more the pole lifts you. As the pole swings you up, a ring closes in on your vaulter. Tap the moment it turns gold to push off at the top for extra height. Clear the bar and it goes up. Three misses at the same height and you're out. Your score is the highest bar you cleared, in centimetres.
How to play Vault
- Press and hold anywhere to start running. Keep holding to build speed.
- Let go on the white check mark to plant the pole. The lighter band is the good zone.
- Tap when the shrinking ring reaches your vaulter and glows gold to push off the pole.
- Clear the bar to raise it. Three misses at one height end the run.
Tips to get a high score
- Planting early or late both cost height. Too far off the mark and the plant fails completely.
- Don't let go in the first couple of steps: that just pulls you up, but the shot clock keeps ticking.
- A PERFECT PUSH can be worth almost half a metre. Watch the ring, not the bar.
- The plant zone and push window shrink as the bar climbs, so early heights are where you build confidence.
- Clearing the bar with lots of room to spare earns a coin for hats.
How the bar and the windows tighten
The bar starts at 3.00 metres and goes up 40 cm after each clearance until 4.20 m. From there it rises 30 cm at a time, from 4.80 m it's 15 cm, and above 5.20 m just 10 cm.
Your timing windows shrink with each bar you clear, over the first 14 clearances. The plant zone narrows from 1.1 metres either side of the check mark to 0.6 metres. The push window goes from about 0.18 seconds either side of the top of the swing to 0.1 seconds.
Misses reset when you clear a bar. Three misses at one height end the run, whatever the cause: a bad plant, a balk, running out of time or knocking the bar.
Where your height comes from
Three things decide how high you go: your speed at the plant, how close the plant is to the mark, and the push. Speed sets how high the pole can lift you, and the plant decides how much of that you get. A perfect plant gives you all of it, while one at the very edge of the zone gives only 40%.
You can't run faster than the runway allows. It's a random 19 to 25 metres long, and you're still speeding up when you reach the mark, so a long runway is worth a little extra height. A perfect plant lifts you to roughly 4.8 to 5.1 metres before you push.
The push adds up to 46 cm on top, less the farther you are from the exact top of the swing. A PERFECT PUSH is one in the middle fifth of the window. Past about 5 metres you need a near-perfect plant and a strong push together; one alone won't get you over.
Mistakes that cost attempts
Waiting too long to start. You have about four seconds to begin each run, with a warning a second before time is up. Letting go in the first two metres only pulls you up, and the clock keeps running.
Holding past the mark. If you're still holding when you get within a metre of the box, it's a balk. Letting go a little early is no worse than a little late, because plant quality falls off the same way on both sides of the mark.
Pushing too soon. The swing takes about a second, a bit less after a faster run. An early push launches you on the spot, and a push far from the top earns nothing extra. If you never tap, you come off the pole on your own at the end of the window with no push at all.

FAQ
Why did my vault fail?
Either the plant was too far from the check mark (TOO EARLY or TOO LATE), you ran right up to the box without letting go (BALK), you waited too long to start (TIME), or you didn't get high enough and knocked the bar.
How high can I go?
Good runs clear five metres and more. The bar rises 40 cm at a time at first, then in smaller steps, and the timing windows get tighter as it climbs.
Is it free?
Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.
How do challenges work?
After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
