Dunk

Drop it through every hoop. A free one-tap game.

Play nowTap to bounce · Drop through each hoop

Dunk is a one-tap basketball game. Your googly-eyed basketball rolls forward on its own. Tap to bounce it up, then let it fall down through each hoop. Miss a hoop and the run is over. The rims are solid, so a ball can bounce in off the rim, but a clean swish that touches nothing scores double and builds a combo. Three in a row sets the ball on fire.

How to play Dunk

  1. Tap anywhere to bounce the ball upward. It moves forward by itself.
  2. Get above each hoop and drop down through it. Hoops only count from above.
  3. Missing a hoop, falling onto the spikes at the bottom or hitting a red spike block ends the run.
  4. A swish (no rim touch) is worth 2 points and builds a combo. Three swishes in a row light the ball on fire.

Tips to get a high score

How the court changes

Most of Dunk's difficulty is tied to how many hoops you've scored. Over roughly the first 40 hoops the rims get narrower, the hoops sit closer together, and the height jump from one hoop to the next grows from a small step to most of the court. Early hoops sit at similar heights; deep in a run you'll go from a high hoop to a low one and back.

Moving hoops start after the eleventh. At first only a few bob up and down, gently. Later about half of them move, travel further and move faster. Red spike blocks join after the fifteenth hoop. They sit halfway between two hoops, either well above the higher hoop or well below the lower one, so they mostly catch you when you climb too high or sink too low between baskets.

The ball also rolls faster over roughly the first 70 seconds. Early on you get about a second and a half per hoop; at full speed it's closer to one second.

Points and the swish combo

A basket that touches the rim is 1 point. A swish, dropping through without touching either rim, is 2. That's the only bonus: the combo and the flames from three swishes in a row don't multiply anything, and coins don't add to your score. Every swish is worth the same 2 points whether it's your first or your twentieth.

So the numbers favour clean drops, but never at the cost of the run. A rim-in still counts and keeps you alive. When a hoop is moving or a spike block is close, take the safe 1 point.

Timing your last tap

Every tap launches the ball upward at the same speed, however fast it was falling. That makes each bounce the same height, which is the key to Dunk. One tap made at rim height rises and comes back to rim height about one hoop's width further on at the start, and closer to two widths once the ball is at full speed.

Use that as your guide. Get the ball a little above the rim while you're still a few hoop-widths away, then make your final tap at the point that drops you onto the middle of the hoop and leave the screen alone.

If the ball lands on a rim and sits there, don't panic-tap. It rolls forward on its own and slips off after under a second, and it can still fall in. Tapping from under the hoop just bounces you off the net.

FAQ

What counts as a swish?

Dropping through the hoop without touching either side of the rim. A swish scores 2 points instead of 1 and adds to your combo.

Why did I lose when I went over the hoop?

Every hoop has to be scored. Going over, under or bouncing out past it ends the run, so line up and drop through each one.

Is it free?

Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.

How do challenges work?

After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
