Chute is a one-button skydiving game. You drop out of a plane and fall through layers of wind that blow left or right. Hold to spread out: you fall slowly and the wind carries you a long way. Let go to dive: you fall fast and barely drift. Steer through the rings by choosing which winds to ride, dodge the birds, then tap inside the PULL zone to open your parachute. Pull low for a bonus, glide onto the target, and the plane takes you up for the next jump. Each jump has stronger winds, smaller rings and more birds. There's a new sky every day, with friends' ghosts jumping beside you.
How to play Chute
- Hold anywhere to spread out and drift with the wind. Let go to dive straight down.
- Fall through the rings. Each ring is a point.
- When you reach the gold PULL zone, tap to open your parachute. Don't hit the ground without it.
- Under the canopy, hold to glide with the wind and let go to drop straight down. Land on the target for a bonus.
Tips to get a high score
- Watch the arrows and streaks: each layer of air blows one way. Spread in the layers that carry you toward the next ring, and dive through the ones that don't.
- Opening the chute needs a fresh tap, so let go first if you've been holding.
- Pull below the faint line near the ground for a LOW PULL bonus, or even lower for DAREDEVIL. Diving fast makes a low pull riskier, so spread a moment before you pull.
- Birds fly straight across their layer. Diving gets you past them quickly; spreading lets them pass first.
Jump by jump: what changes
Chute gets harder per jump, not per second, and reaches full difficulty by the eighth jump. Your first jump has no birds and a gentle first layer of wind. From the second jump there are two birds, then roughly one more each jump, up to nine, and they fly faster as you go.
The wind layers end up about two-thirds stronger than on the first jump, and the wind flips direction from one layer to the next about three times out of four. Rings shrink by about a third. Diving gets about a quarter faster, and the gold PULL zone shrinks to about half its first height, so you have less room to slow down.
One thing never changes. Every ring is placed so you can reach it from the ring before with some mix of spreading and diving, and the last ring always sits well above the PULL zone.
Where the points come from
Each ring you fall through is one point, and the combo counts rings in a row until you miss one. Coins come from PERFECT rings (through the very middle), from every fourth ring in a row and from bullseye landings. They're for hats and don't add to your score.
The landing is worth up to three more points. LOW PULL is one and DAREDEVIL is two (they don't stack), and touching down on the target adds one. That's as much as half the rings on a typical jump, so a careful landing matters as much as a clean ring run.
A good plan is to take the rings first. After the last ring, use the wind layers above the PULL zone to line up with the target before you open the chute.
Pulling low without splatting
Under the canopy you always sink at the same gentle speed. Holding lets the wind carry you, and letting go stops the drift so you drop straight down. You can't fly against the wind, so pull on the upwind side of the target, never past it.
The splat rule is about speed, not height. The canopy needs a short distance to slow you. Your spread fall speed is already slow enough to land safely, so a pull straight out of a spread is safe at any height. From a full dive, slowing down takes up most of the DAREDEVIL band, which leaves almost no margin.
Since the chute needs a fresh tap, a spread-then-pull is really let go, then tap. Your speed changes gradually, so a quick release and tap barely speeds you up. Just don't let go early and dive into the ground. Birds only matter in freefall, so once the canopy is open you're safe from them.
Daily levels and ghost races
Today's Chute level is the same for everyone, and you race the ghosts of other players' runs. How daily levels and challenges work.
FAQ
Why didn't my parachute open?
The chute only opens with a new tap inside the gold PULL zone. Holding from above the zone doesn't count, so let go and tap again.
How does scoring work?
Every ring is a point. Pulling low adds one or two bonus points, and landing on the target adds one more. Missing a ring isn't fatal, but it breaks your combo.
Is it free?
Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.
How do challenges work?
After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
