Jet

Fly the zapper lab. A free one-tap game.

Play nowHold to fly · Let go to fall

Jet is a one-touch jetpack runner. A little amber blob with a jetpack strapped to its back races through an endless lab full of electric zappers. Hold anywhere on the screen to fire the jetpack and climb; let go and gravity pulls you back down. The floor and the ceiling are safe, so it's all about where you are when the next zapper, missile or laser shows up. Score is the distance you cover, in metres.

How to play Jet

  1. Hold anywhere to fire the jetpack and rise. Let go to fall.
  2. Steer between the red electric zappers. Later ones spin.
  3. A red warning on the right edge follows your height, then locks on: move away before the missile flies across.
  4. When dashed lines appear across the lab, a laser is charging. Get out of those rows before it fires.
  5. Grab gold coins on the way. Your score is how far you fly, in metres.

Tips to get a high score

How the lab ramps up

Jet gets harder on a smooth curve over roughly the first 70 seconds, which is about 1,700 metres. Your forward speed climbs to nearly double where it started, and the space between obstacles shrinks by about a third. That means less time to change height between one zapper and the next.

New threats switch on in stages. Missiles start showing up at around 200 metres and spinning zappers at about 400. Laser set pieces arrive near 450 metres. From roughly 800 metres the lasers can fire three beams at once, and missiles sometimes come in pairs.

The zappers grow as well. Posts rising from the floor or hanging from the ceiling get longer, the window between a top-and-bottom pair gets narrower, and the rotating zappers spin faster.

Reading missiles and lasers

A missile warning follows your height for just over a second, trailing slightly behind you. Then it locks for a bit under half a second and the missile launches along that line. So drift to a height you like, let it lock there, then make one small move off the line.

When two missiles come, the second warning starts about two-thirds of a second after the first and keeps tracking you after the first one locks. Dodge the first, then settle at a new height and dodge the second the same way.

Lasers charge for about a second and a half, then fire for a bit under a second. The stretch of lab during a laser has no zappers, so your only job is to park between the dashed rows. The beams are thick, so sit in the middle of a gap rather than near its edge. If the beams are at the top and bottom, the middle is safe.

Altitude is your only tool

Your score is distance and nothing else. Coins play a rising chime when you grab them close together, and CLOSE! streaks are for show, but neither adds a single metre. If a coin trail would pull you toward a zapper, skip it.

The jetpack climbs only slightly harder than gravity pulls, so getting from the floor to the ceiling takes about a second, and falling back takes almost as long. A big height change has to start well before the obstacle, not when it reaches you.

That's why cruising near the middle with short taps works so well. From there you're about half a second from either edge, which is enough for most gaps. Sitting on the floor or ceiling is safe for the moment, but every escape from there runs in one direction only.

FAQ

Why did a missile hit me when I was standing still?

Missiles aim at your height while the warning icon is on the right edge. Once it flashes fast it's locked, so moving up or down a little after the lock makes it miss.

Is the floor safe?

Yes. You can run along the floor or bump along the ceiling, but zappers and lasers often cover both, so you can't stay there forever.

Is it free?

Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.

How do challenges work?

After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
