Rings is a one-button take on the classic handheld water-ring toy. Coloured rings rest at the bottom of a water tank, and pegs stick up from the floor. A little jet slides back and forth along the bottom by itself. Hold to stop it and pump: the water pushes nearby rings up and away from the jet. Let go and they sink slowly. Drop a ring onto a peg to land it and top up the clock. Land every ring in the tank to clear it, then the next tank brings more rings, more pegs and pegs that slide.
How to play Rings
- The jet slides along the bottom of the tank on its own.
- Hold anywhere to stop it and pump. Rings above it float up, and rings off to one side drift away from it.
- Let go and the rings sink. Line a ring up over a peg so it slides down onto it.
- Each ring you land adds time to the clock. Clear the tank before the clock runs out.
Tips to get a high score
- Pump from the side opposite the peg. A ring drifts away from the jet, so start just past it to push it the right way.
- Lift the ring well above the peg tip, then let go and let it sink. Short puffs from the side line it up.
- Rings that clip the tip bounce off. That's a CLOSE! Another puff and it'll drop on.
- Dead-centre landings are a SWISH. Land rings quickly in a row for a combo.
- Later tanks have sliding pegs and a lazy current, so watch the drift.
How the tanks change
Tanks get harder by number, not by time. The first has one peg and two rings. Tanks two to four have two pegs, and from tank five you get two or three. Rings go up too: three in tanks two and three, four in tanks four to seven, and five from tank eight on.
From tank six some pegs glide from side to side, and later they swing wider and faster. A gentle current starts after the first tank and grows stronger, nudging free rings sideways as they float and sink.
The jet also slides faster with each tank until about tank 13, so the moment you need to hold comes and goes quicker. On the daily level, everyone gets the same tanks in the same order.
The clock and your score
You start with 25 seconds and the clock can hold at most 40. Each ring you land adds about 4.2 seconds in the first tank, shrinking to 2.4 seconds by around tank 13. Clearing a tank adds three seconds more, and the clock stops while the next tank is set up.
Your score is simply rings landed. A SWISH and a run of quick landings look and sound great but don't add points or time. Gold rings, from tank three, drop a coin when they land, and clearing a tank drops one coin, or two with more than 20 seconds left. Coins go to your coin total.
The early refills are generous, so use the first tanks to build the clock toward the 40-second cap. That cushion is what carries you through the five-ring tanks with sliding pegs, where each ring buys back much less time.
Working the jet
The jet pushes hardest on rings close above it and fades with height, so a ring near the surface gets much less lift than one near the floor. Pressure takes a moment to build when you hold and drains fast when you let go, so very short taps barely move anything.
A ring right over the nozzle goes straight up. The sideways shove is strongest on a ring a little over a ring's width to one side. Park the jet on the far side of a ring from the peg to push it over; park it underneath to lift without moving it sideways.
A ring only threads if its centre is close to the peg as it sinks past the tip; clip the edge and it bounces up and away. Below the tip a peg acts like a wall, so a ring that sinks beside it ends up next to it, not on it. Free rings bump each other too, so lift one at a time when they're bunched.
Daily levels and ghost races

FAQ
Why does the jet stop when I hold?
So you can aim. The jet slides while you're not touching the screen; hold at the right moment and it stays put and pumps from there.
How does the clock work?
You start with 25 seconds. Every ring you land adds a few seconds and clearing a tank adds more. The refill shrinks as the tanks get harder.
Is it free?
Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.
How do challenges work?
After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
