Darts is a one-button darts game. Each throw calls a target: a number, its double ring, its treble ring or the bull. A line sweeps across the board: tap to lock it. A second line sweeps down: tap again and the dart flies to where the two lines cross. Hit the called target and you score its points, so a treble 20 is worth 60 and a bullseye is worth 50. Miss it and you lose one of three darts. The lines speed up as you score, small targets like trebles and doubles come up more often, and later the board itself slides and bobs, so you have to lead it.

How to play Darts

  1. Read the call above the board: a number, a double, a treble or the bull. The target glows on the board.
  2. Tap anywhere to lock the vertical line as it sweeps across.
  3. Tap again to lock the horizontal line as it sweeps down. The dart flies to where they cross.
  4. Hit the target to score its points. Miss, and you lose one of your three darts.

Tips to get a high score

How the calls and sweeps change

Your first two throws are always plain numbers: 20, then 6. After that the call is random. Early on about three calls in four are plain numbers, about one in eight is the bull, and doubles and trebles are rare. By around 30 hits plain numbers are down to roughly one call in eight, and doubles and trebles make up about two thirds.

The lines speed up too. At first a line takes over two seconds to cross the board, and by 30 hits it takes about one, getting a little faster with every hit after that. Both lines always start fresh each throw: the vertical one at the left edge moving right, the horizontal one at the top moving down.

From 8 hits the board slides side to side, and from 18 hits it also bobs up and down. The dart takes about a quarter of a second to land, and it scores against where the board is when it lands.

Where the points really come from

You score whatever you actually hit inside the called target. That makes a plain number call worth more than it looks. The treble ring sits inside the wedge, so aiming at it costs nothing: land in it and you triple the number, drift just off it and you still score the single.

Don't aim for the double on a number call, though. It's the outer edge of the board, and a dart just beyond it is off the board and a lost dart.

After plain numbers, the bull is the most forgiving call, more than twice as wide as a ring is thick, and the treble is the smallest. On a bull call, the outer bull scores 25 and the bullseye 50, and both count as hits. Coins drop on every third hit in a row, but they're for hats and don't change your score.

Locking the lines on a moving board

There's no prize for speed. Each tap gets about 5.5 seconds on the clock, and it resets once you lock, so let a line make a full pass if you're not happy with the first one.

A sliding board slows down and turns around at each end of its path, and that's the easiest moment to hit. Lock the vertical line where your target sits at one end of the slide, then time the second tap so the dart lands while the board is pausing there.

Your three darts never come back, so every miss is a big deal. When you're unsure, aim for the middle of the called target rather than its richest part. A safe single keeps the run going; a missed treble ends a third of it.

FAQ

How many points is each target worth?

Whatever you actually hit inside it: the segment number for a single, double that for the double ring, triple for the treble ring, 25 for the outer bull and 50 for the bullseye.

How does the run end?

You have three darts. Every throw that misses its called target (or runs out of time) costs one, and the run ends when they're gone. Your score is your total points.

Is it free?

Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.

How do challenges work?

After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
