Whack is a one-tap take on the fairground mole game. Eight holes sit in a ring on the lawn and a big mallet sweeps around them on its own. Moles pop up and you tap to slam the mallet down right where it is. Every slam also swings the mallet back the other way, so a well-timed miss is how you turn around for a mole you just passed. Let a mole sink away and you lose a heart. Bop a bunny and you lose one too. There's a new lawn every day and your friends' ghost mallets sweep the ring with you.
How to play Whack
- Watch the mallet sweep around the ring of holes.
- Tap anywhere to slam it down. If a mole is up in that hole, it's bopped.
- After every slam the mallet sweeps back the other way.
- Moles that sink away unbopped cost a heart, and so does bopping a bunny. Lose three hearts and the run ends.
Tips to get a high score
- Tap when the mallet's head is right over the hole for a BONK. Perfect bops in a row climb in pitch.
- If a mole pops up just behind the mallet, slam an empty hole to swing back toward it.
- Bunnies wear a red badge. Let the mallet pass over them.
- A mole shaking with a red ring is about to escape. Bopping it just in time is a CLOSE! save.
- Golden moles are quick and drop a coin. Every 15 bops in a row win back a heart.
How the lawn speeds up
At first the mallet takes about three seconds to sweep all the way round the ring. Over roughly the first 70 seconds it nearly doubles in speed, to about 1.6 seconds a lap, and it keeps creeping faster after that.
Creatures come faster and leave sooner. One pops up about every 1.6 seconds at first, down to about every 0.6 seconds. A mole stays up for about 3.25 seconds early on and about 1.4 seconds by the 70-second mark, then up to a quarter less over the following minute.
The first six creatures are always moles. After that bunnies mix in, starting at about one in twelve and rising to nearly one in three. Golden moles are about one in sixteen and stay up only 70 percent as long as a normal mole.
Slams, misses and turning back
Each hole has a hit zone around it, with dead gaps between neighbouring holes where a slam hits nothing. A slam freezes the mallet for about a fifth of a second before it sweeps back the other way, and taps during that freeze are ignored.
Any slam that doesn't bop a mole is a miss, and a miss resets your bop streak. That includes a deliberate slam to turn around. The turn-back trick saves hearts, but it costs you a streak that may have been close to a heal.
New creatures never pop up in the hole right under the mallet. Whatever appears is always somewhere ahead of you or behind you, so the choice is always keep going or slam to turn.
Hearts and the long run
You have three hearts and can't hold more. Every 15 bops in a row win one back if you're down. Every tenth bop in a row also drops a coin, and golden moles always do, but coins go to your coin total, not your score.
Your score is moles bopped. A dead-centre BONK sounds better but counts the same as a hit near the edge of the hole, so don't wait for perfect when the mole is about to sink.
Later on moles pop up faster than one sweep can reach them all. When two are up on opposite sides, take the one ahead first, then slam to turn only if the other one still has time. Never slam to turn while a bunny is under the mallet.

FAQ
How do I reach a mole behind the mallet?
Tap to slam anyway. Every slam, hit or miss, reverses the sweep, so the mallet heads straight back toward the mole. Just don't slam on a bunny.
What happens if I hit a bunny?
You lose a heart and your bop streak resets. Bunnies are harmless if you leave them alone, and they hop back down on their own.
Is it free?
Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.
How do challenges work?
After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
