Turret

Spin. Tap. Hold the yard. A free one-tap game.

Play nowTap to fire

Turret is a one-tap zombie defense game. Your blob sits on a little turret in the middle of an old churchyard, and the barrel never stops turning. Tap anywhere to fire along the dotted aim line. Every shot also flips the spin, so the barrel swings back the way it came. That makes one tap both your trigger and your steering. Zombies shamble in from all sides: walkers, quick runners that sprint straight for you, big brutes that take three hits, and rare golden ones worth coins. Let three through the sandbags and the yard falls. There's a new yard every day, and friends' ghost barrels spin around yours.

How to play Turret

  1. Watch the barrel spin. The arrow shows which way it's turning.
  2. Tap anywhere to fire along the dotted line.
  3. Every shot reverses the spin, so the barrel swings back toward where it just was.
  4. Stop zombies before they reach the sandbags. Three bites and it's game over.

Tips to get a high score

Where the danger comes from

Zombies spawn just outside the yard from any direction. The yard is much taller than it is wide, so zombies coming from the left or right reach your sandbags in about half the time of ones from the top or bottom. Check the sides first.

Golden zombies can appear after 15 seconds, runners after 20 and brutes after 30. Runners move at nearly twice walker speed, brutes at a bit over half, and golden ones sway widely from side to side as they come.

Over the first 70 seconds, walkers more than double their speed, zombies arrive four times as often, and packs of two or three from the same side get much more common. After that, spawning and walking keep getting faster for more than another minute, so the yard always falls in the end.

Spin, flip and cooldown

The barrel turns a full circle in 2.5 seconds at first and in about 1.7 seconds by the end of the ramp. Each shot fires along the current aim line and then reverses the spin.

There's a cooldown of a tenth of a second after every shot. A tap during it does nothing at all: no shot and no flip. Two very quick taps can leave you turning the wrong way, because only the first one counted.

Bullets stop at the first zombie they touch, so one shot never clears a line. Tapping at a steady beat keeps the barrel rocking back and forth over the same small arc, which is the best way to work through a pack coming from one side.

Score, streaks and brutes

Every zombie is worth 1 point, whatever its kind. A brute takes three hits for that same point, and each of the first two shoves it back a step. Hitting brutes while they're still far out uses that knockback to buy you time. Golden zombies also give three coins for hats.

Your streak counts kills in a row. A bullet that flies off without hitting anything resets it, and so does a bite. Every 10th kill in a streak gives a coin. A hit that doesn't finish a brute keeps the streak going without adding to it.

A miss only costs your streak, so firing just to turn around is fine. Bites are what matter: you get three and can't win any back. Clear runners and the sides first, and let the top and bottom of the yard be your buffer.

FAQ

Why does my turret change direction when I shoot?

That's the one-button trick. Every shot reverses the spin, so you aim by timing your taps. Fire, swing back, fire again, and you can cover a whole side of the yard.

How do the zombies get harder?

They spawn more often and walk faster the longer you hold out. Runners and brutes join in, and packs of two or three come from the same side.

Is it free?

Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.

How do challenges work?

After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
