Snip is a one-tap rope cutting game. A striped candy hangs from one, two or three ropes, swinging above a hungry green blob. Every tap cuts the next rope, in order. Time the last cut so the candy flies off its swing and drops straight into the open mouth. Gold coins float along the way. Take too long and a bird swoops in and steals the candy. You get three misses per run, a new set of candies every day, and friends' ghost candies swinging next to yours.
How to play Snip
- Tap anywhere to cut the glowing rope. Ropes are cut in order, and the next one always glows.
- Cutting the last rope lets the candy fly off on its swing. Time that cut so it falls into the blob's mouth.
- Grab the gold coins on the way. Collect all of them on a candy for a PERFECT.
- Don't wait too long: when the bar runs out, a bird steals the candy. Three lost candies and the run ends.
Tips to get a high score
- The candy keeps its swing when you let go, so cut on the upswing toward the mouth, not at the far end.
- With several ropes, cut the holding ropes first and let the candy settle into its swing before the final snip.
- Later on the blob walks back and forth. Aim for where it will be, not where it is.
- Spiked bars show up after a few candies. A candy that touches one is lost.
- Landing right on the edge of the mouth still counts, and shows a CLOSE! popup.
How the candies get harder
Snip ramps up by candy, not by time, over about the first 20 candies, and a few things keep tightening for another 25 or so after that.
The first two candies hang from a single rope. From the third, around half hang from two ropes, rising to about 70 percent, and three-rope candies can appear from the ninth. The final rope also gets shorter, so the swing gets quicker and the timing tighter.
From the sixth candy the blob starts walking back and forth, and spike bars can appear off to one side of the mouth. The mouth narrows to about 60 percent of its starting width by candy 20 and to about half by candy 45, while the blob walks further and faster.
The bird's timer shrinks too: 10 seconds for your first candy, 8 for the second, falling to about 4.6 seconds by candy 20. It only runs while the candy is still hanging. Once the last rope is cut, there's no clock at all.
What actually scores
Your score is the number of candies the blob eats, one point each. Gold coins, PERFECT, CLOSE! and the streak counter don't add to it. Take coins when they're on the way, but never at the cost of the candy.
Every lost candy costs one of your three lives, whatever the cause. A safe drop into the middle of the mouth is always worth more than a fancy one that grabs every coin.
A plan for a long run: cut any holding ropes early, so most of the timer is left for the final cut. Then watch a full swing or two, note where the candy is when it's heading toward the mouth, and cut there next time around.
Reading the swing and the moving mouth
The candy keeps all its speed when the last rope goes, so it flies off along the line it was moving. Cut it at the bottom of the swing and it shoots sideways fast. Cut it right at the end of an arc, where it pauses, and it drops almost straight down.
With two or three ropes, the candy starts held off to one side and the last rope hangs slack. Cutting the holders drops the candy until that rope snaps tight, and only then does the real swing begin.
A walking blob moves at a steady speed and turns at the same two points every time. Watch where it turns, then aim for where the mouth will be when the candy arrives, usually well under a second after your cut. The centre of the candy has to land inside the opening; a candy that only clips the rim is lost.

FAQ
Can I choose which rope to cut?
No. Ropes are always cut in order, and the glowing rope with the scissors is next. Your only choice is when to cut it.
How does the run end?
You have three candies to lose. A candy is lost if it misses the mouth, hits a spike bar, or the bird steals it because the timer ran out.
Is it free?
Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.
How do challenges work?
After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
