Pin

Never hit your own pin. A free one-tap game.

Play nowTap to throw

Pin is a one-tap timing game. A disc spins, stops and reverses; tap to throw a pin into it. Place all your pins to smash the disc and move on — but if a pin hits another pin, it's over.

How to play Pin

  1. Tap to throw a pin at the spinning disc.
  2. Pins stick and spin with the disc.
  3. Place every pin to clear the stage.
  4. Never hit a pin that's already stuck, and throw before the shot clock runs out.

Tips to get a high score

How Pin's stages escalate

Stage 1 is a steady disc with nothing in it and five or six pins to place. From there, the pin count grows by about one every three stages up to ten, and from stage 2 some discs come with gray pins already stuck in them, up to four.

The spin patterns open up gradually. Stages 2 and 3 are steady or wobbling discs. From stage 4 you can also get discs that reverse and discs that stop and lurch off again. Base speed climbs through stage 12 and keeps creeping up for a few stages after that.

The shot clock tightens too. You get 3.5 seconds between throws at first, a tenth of a second less every stage, down to 2.2 seconds from stage 14 on. The clock resets with each throw and pauses once every remaining pin is already in the air.

Every fifth stage is a boss. A boss disc always reverses or stops and goes, spins 25% faster, needs one extra pin and starts with one extra pin already in it.

Timing throws to each pattern

Every pin hits the bottom of the disc, and it takes a fraction of a second to fly up. On fast discs, throw just before the gap you want reaches the bottom, not when it's already there.

Each pattern has its own easy moment. A wobbling disc speeds up and slows down but never stops, so throw in the slow part. A reversing disc eases to a stop before it flips, and the moments around that flip are the slowest of the cycle. A stop-and-go disc brakes almost to a halt, which is the easiest window you'll get.

Pins need a little under ten degrees of space between them. That sounds generous, but with ten or more pins on one disc it fills up fast, so spread your early pins evenly around the rim instead of clustering them.

You score one point per pin that sticks. Each stage puts a coin or two on the rim, and a pin that lands right next to one collects it for your coin total.

Pin mistakes to avoid

Double-tapping while the disc is stopped. Two pins thrown back to back into a disc that has barely moved land in nearly the same spot, and the second one bounces. Let the disc turn before your next throw.

Waiting for a perfect gap. Late stages give you just over two seconds per throw, and a timeout ends the run just like a collision. A decent gap now beats a perfect one that never comes.

Forgetting the gray pins. Pre-stuck pins block you exactly like your own, and boss discs always have some. Find them before your first throw.

Trying to get a head start. After a clear, the disc shatters and taps are ignored until the next stage appears, so spend that moment reading the new disc instead.

FAQ

What are boss discs?

Every fifth stage the disc changes look and spins in a trickier pattern. Clear it for a big celebration.

Is it free?

Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.

How do challenges work?

After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
