Orbit is a one-tap planet hopper. Your little blob circles a planet; tap and it lets go, flying off along its orbit in a straight line. Reach the next planet's gravity ring and you're caught, orbiting the way you came in. Planets stack up into space, some drift side to side, some have spiky asteroids circling them, and no orbit lasts forever.
How to play Orbit
- You circle a planet automatically. Tap anywhere to let go.
- You fly straight along the dotted aim line. Reach the next planet's dashed gravity ring to get caught.
- Every planet you reach is a point. Skip one by flying straight to the planet after it and both count.
- Don't wait too long: your orbit slowly sinks and the planet glows red before you crash.
- Miss every ring and you drift off into space. Red spiky asteroids end the run too.
Tips to get a high score
- Watch the aim line, not the planet: tap when the line points through the next ring.
- Get caught right on the gold dotted orbit for a PERFECT, and chain them for a climbing streak.
- Moving planets: aim where the planet will be, not where it is.
- Asteroids sit on the gravity ring's edge. Time your entry for the gap between them.
How the planets get meaner
Orbit ramps up by planet count, from the second planet to about the 45th. A full lap around a medium planet takes about three seconds at first and under two by the end of the ramp, and smaller planets spin you faster still. Launches get about 40% quicker, so you cross the gaps faster too.
The gravity rings shrink at the same time. On the first planets the catch zone reaches about 50 pixels past your orbit, and late in a run it's closer to 30. Planets also sit a little farther apart and shift farther sideways.
Extras join in early. Planets can start drifting side to side from the 4th, small planets show up from the 5th, and from the 6th some have a spiky asteroid riding the edge of their ring. Past about the 24th planet, some get two asteroids.
Your time on each planet
Every orbit decays. On the first planet you have about nine seconds before you crash, early planets give you about eight, and late ones around five. You hold a steady orbit for the first 45% of that. Then the planet warns you and your orbit sinks, slowly at first and then quickly.
With laps of two or three seconds, that's usually one or two clean chances at each launch. If your aim line swings past the next ring and you weren't ready, the next lap is still safe early on. Later, the sink can drag you into the surface before the line comes round again.
Flights have limits too. Leave either side of the screen, drop well below the planet you left, or fly for more than four seconds without being caught, and you're lost in space.
Points, skips and perfect catches
Your score is the number of the highest planet you've reached. You're never caught by the planet you just left, but any of the next three can catch you. If your line passes clear of the next ring and into the one after, you get a point for each planet you passed. That's the only way to score faster.
A PERFECT means you entered on a line within a few pixels of the planet's gold orbit, so you slot straight in. Perfects in a row build a streak that's only for show, and a catch on the very edge of the ring scores just the same.
Coins float in about half the gaps, set to one side of the straight path. They buy hats and don't add to your score. Watch out for asteroids even after you're caught: you take a moment to settle into the orbit, and an asteroid on the ring's edge can still clip you.

FAQ
Which way will I orbit the next planet?
The way you came in. Pass to the left of a planet and you'll circle one way; pass to the right and you'll circle the other.
Why did I crash into my planet?
Orbits decay. After a few seconds you sink toward the surface (the planet flashes red), so jump before that happens.
Is it free?
Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.
How do challenges work?
After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
