Duo

Two friends, one spin. A free one-tap game.

Play nowHold = right · Let go = left

Duo is a one-button dodge game about two little friends tied to the same circle. They never stop spinning: hold your finger down and they turn clockwise, lift it and they turn counter-clockwise. Walls, gates and spinning bars fall from above, and neither friend may touch one. It starts gentle and ends frantic.

How to play Duo

  1. Hold anywhere to spin the pair clockwise. Let go to spin counter-clockwise.
  2. The pair is always moving, so you choose the direction, never a stop.
  3. Slip both orbs past each falling wall. Every wall you pass is a point.
  4. Gates need the pair upright; centre blocks need it flat. Sliding blocks and spinning bars come later.
  5. Brush past a wall for a CLOSE! streak, and grab coins on the way.

Tips to get a high score

Which walls arrive when

Duo follows a fixed schedule over the first 70 seconds. For the first 15 seconds you only see single blocks, either in the centre or on one side. After that come stairs (a side block, then one on the other side) and sliding blocks. Around 25 seconds gates and spinning bars join in. Past 35 seconds the plain centre block is retired, and you get three-wall zig-zags and a centre block followed closely by a side block.

The walls fall nearly twice as fast by the 70-second mark, and the space between patterns shrinks from 250 pixels to about 140. A new pattern goes from roughly every second and a half to about two a second. Your spin only gets about a quarter faster in that time, so later you have to start every turn earlier.

Upright, flat, and in between

Almost every wall asks for one of two poses. Side blocks, stairs, zig-zags and gates all want the pair close to upright, within about 35 degrees of vertical for a gate and less for the widest late side blocks. Centre blocks want the pair flat, so they pass between the orbs. Because the pair is symmetric, you're never more than a quarter turn from either pose.

That's why stairs and zig-zags are easier than they look. Upright clears both sides, so once you're there you can wiggle in place and let the whole pattern fall past. The centre-then-side combo is the hard one. Start the quarter turn from flat to upright the moment the centre block clears the orbs.

Sliding blocks and spinning bars are the only walls you have to time rather than just pose for. A bar is a little shorter than the space between the orbs, so line the pair up with it and let its middle pass through.

Points, CLOSE! and coins

Your score counts walls, not patterns, so a gate is worth two points (one for each side) and a zig-zag is worth three. Each wall scores once it has fallen fully past your circle.

Clearing a wall with only a few pixels to spare adds to the CLOSE! streak, which is only for show. Coins drift down in about a third of the gaps after the first two patterns, always within reach of the circle. They buy hats rather than points, so grab one only when the pose you need anyway carries an orb through it.

There's no stop button, so you hover by alternating. Short taps and releases wobble the pair around one angle, which is the safest way to wait.

Daily levels and ghost races

Today's Duo level is the same for everyone, and you race the ghosts of other players' runs. How daily levels and challenges work.

FAQ

Can I stop the orbs from spinning?

No. They always spin, and holding or releasing only picks the direction. Quick taps let you hover around one angle.

Do I lose if only one orb hits a wall?

Yes. Both orbs have to stay clear, which is what makes every wall a little puzzle.

Is it free?

Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.

How do challenges work?

After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
